These puppets showcased three birds native to West Papua- the kakatua, the cassowary, and the bird-of-paradise, the cendrawasih.
These puppets were carefully articulated and handmade by Balinese artisans. With a focus on sustainability, the puppets were created using all-natural and locally-sourced bamboo, rattan, and palm fronds. The black hair of the cassowary was made using recycled pineapple fibers.
